Hi! My name is Atlas Vernier. I’m a photographer based out of Blacksburg, Virginia specializing in candid portraiture. I love capturing genuine emotion, especially in the activities that we love. Through this passion, I find myself gravitating towards art- and performance-based spaces: from the marching band at Virginia Tech to Dungeons and Dragons livestreams to awe-inspiring firebreathers! Working with the marching band means that our performances (and my photography) have an audience of 66,000 fans each game day. I’ve been a photographer for almost a decade, and I’m continually seeking more opportunities to showcase others’ skill and passion.

By day, I’m a PhD student in systems engineering, meaning that I also excel at organization and infrastructure, adapting my own workflow and communication to reflect the needs of people around me.

I’m excited to bring my skills to the Flame Festival!
