Symphony: the animated series
post production manager; subtitling & translation lead
This animated series is a collaborative project of over 150 artists, musicians, writers, and editors. We are working to create an in-depth story and world, including additional worldbuilding and character detail. As the post production manager, I am responsible for overseeing and empowering the editing, continuity, sound effects, and foley teams. As the subtitling line lead, I oversee the subteam of translators and subtitlers within the post production department. We are currently solidifying our processes and workflow, including the creation of overarching documentation and a translation glossary.
INDEPENDENT WRITER
In the last year, I have published over 173,000 words as an independent author. My work is focused around layered worldbuilding and developing complex frameworks for systems and societies. I work alongside a group of editors and fellow writers to improve my prose and characterization, modifying my work based on continual feedback.
SUBTITLER AND CAPTIONIST
I work as a subtitler and captionist - my passion project. These subtitles and captions are intended to increase accessibility for the content that I enjoy, as there are many others (such as Deaf, hard-of-hearing, and neurodivergent individuals) who struggle to understand media without them. I have created my own workflow, including learning new software that works through the YouTube closed captioning system; subtitles can be added to an existing YouTube video through the back end. I am currently working on creating a framework for a searchable repository of videos, as well as communicating with content creators to add the subtitles to existing videos.
