SURGERY
SUPPORT

First of all, if you’ve gotten to this website: THANK YOU!!!

WEEKS 1–2

These are going to be the most difficult weeks for me. With love, this is NOT a good time to come visit. I have a smaller crew that will help with all the unglamorous bits post-surgery

You know what you CAN do?? DELIVERY!! Here are some of my favorites:

  • Roots: El Jefe

  • Hamro: Chicken Tikka Masala and Garlic Naan

  • Blacksburg No. 1: Sesame Chicken with Fried Rice

  • Viet Pho You: P9

  • Firehouse: Hook & Ladder, no tomato

  • Mellow Mushroom: Great White

  • Mezeh: Falafel Classic

  • Italiano’s: Mixed Chicken & Lamb over Rice

If you do choose to send me something, it would be GREATLY appreciated if you add a second meal, whether that’s a duplicate of my order or something popular at the restaurant. When something is delivered, I can’t actually hold or carry it because of the limited strength and mobility in my upper body. So someone else has to grab the food and help me actually get it prepped to eat. (It’s a very glamorous process.) I want to try and take care of the people caring for me!

Otherwise, if you’re friends with someone that will be helping me during this time period, buy them a drink.

WEEKS 3–4

I’ll be getting back into action at this point! If you want to say hi post-surgery, this is the time! I’ll slowly be getting back to meetings and classes via Zoom, probably towards Week 4.

If you want to come say hi, just let me know when! I can host about ~4 people at a time.

spreadsheet??

Bonus points if you bring food with you, but I’ll also be VERY happy for the company! In advance, please excuse my moderate disarray, LOL. Delivery is still totally OK.

However, I’ll have limited mobility and will still need help. Things I will likely need help with during this time period:

  • Dishes

  • Laundry

  • Bedsheet refresh

  • Taking out the trash

  • Other household miscellany

WEEKS 5–6

Depending on the healing process, I may or may not be back on my feet at this point. I may even be back on campus!
