SPORT OF THE ARTS

Hi! My name is Atlas Vernier. I’m a photographer based out of Blacksburg, Virginia specializing in marching band photography through candid portraiture. I’m driven to continually showcase the skill and passion of performers. My work is centered on the Marching Virginians, the Spirit of Tech. I marched at Virginia Tech from 2018 to 2023. When I transitioned to graduate school, I also transitioned to the role of Senior Staff Assistant for the Marching Virginians, which allows me to leverage my experience to both support and document the emotions of performers. I’ve now worked as a member of the Marching Virginians Multimedia Team for about six years.

By day, I’m a PhD student in systems engineering, meaning that I also excel at organization and infrastructure, adapting my own workflow and communication to reflect the needs of the people around me. I’m also a technologist at the Institute for Creativity, Arts, & Technology, merging cutting-edge technology with artistic drive to create immersive art experiences.

I’m excited to bring my skills to WGI and showcase the sport of the arts!
